The SCOPUS database is the world's largest universal reference database with the ability to track scientific citations of publications (https://www.elsevier.com/solutions/scopus). For authors who have published more than one article, an individual account is created in Scopus - an author profile with a unique Author ID. The author's profile contains the following information: 9 variants of the author's name, 9 a list of places of his work, 9 number of publications, 9 years of publishing activity, 9 fields of research, 9 references to the main co-authors, 9 total number of citations to the author's publications, 9 total number of sources, referred to by the author, 9 Hirsch index of the author, etc. The database provides users with the ability to use a unique identifier to generate searches and set up notifications (by e-mail or via RSS) about changes in author profiles. Without registering a subscription to the Scopus database, it is possible to search for authors and view their profiles on a limited basis using the Scopus Author Preview link.

The difficulty of the search lies in the fact that the descriptions of articles come to Scopus from different journals, the authors are often transliterated in different ways, the transliteration from the Russian language differs from the transliteration from the Ukrainian or another language, the places of work of the co-authors are often confused or they do not exist at all. In addition, Scopus does not combine records about the author into one, if the transliteration and place of work differ in the articles, therefore it creates several accounts in Scopus. The author himself must merge these accounts. There is a "Request to merge authors" function for this. If it is not possible to combine such duplicates, or if additional corrections are required, contact the support service by email (in English) at the address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. To confirm authorship, it is necessary to attach at least one of your articles to the letter (from those that have a bibliography in Scopus, with the correct spelling of the surname, first name, place of work) in PDF format, indicate other spellings of the surname, first name, which must be combined with hereby report incorrect (or missing) place of work, city and country of residence.
